Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad spectrum of salaries across the country. The actual salary will depend on factors such as role scope, complexity, location, candidate skills, education, training, credentials, experience, and other employment conditions. Employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentives as part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program.

Salary Range

$117,200.00 - $193,400.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers is seeking a Director, Agile Product Owner to lead a team delivering capabilities in an agile manner. You will serve as the voice of the end-user, guiding the daily work of a cross-functional team focused on achieving defined outcomes rather than dictating how tasks are performed.

Supporting Enterprise Distribution, you will identify opportunities to leverage distribution data to help Travelers’ agent-facing partners manage critical relationships effectively. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal business and technology teams to enhance existing data tools and develop new strategic data and insights delivery mechanisms.

What Will You Do?
  • Define, prioritize, and maintain a ready backlog for a cross-functional product team, accepting final product outputs and focusing on outcomes.
  • Manage a backlog of deliverables, conduct testing and experimentation, measure performance, and adjust the roadmap accordingly.
  • Translate business strategies into actionable work, define team goals aligned with the overall vision, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Act as the voice of the end-user, proactively seeking feedback and ensuring requirements are clearly defined and met.
  • Own and refine the team backlog, making trade-offs to maximize value.
  • Set objectives and KPIs to optimize value delivery.
  • Understand and support business readiness, managing change impacts and adoption strategies.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, clarify requirements, and help remove obstacles for the team.
  • Partner with leaders to allocate resources for achieving business outcomes.
  • Share best practices to ensure alignment and consistency across teams.
  • Foster an inclusive, innovative team environment that promotes collaboration and self-organization.
  • May oversee other Agile Product Owners and perform additional duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in Agile product management preferred.
  • Experience within relevant disciplines (e.g., Claims, Risk Control, Technology, etc.) preferred.
  • Three years of experience in articulating and translating business strategy and product vision preferred.
  • Embodies Agile core values and principles.
  • Focuses on defining product value propositions aligned with team objectives.
  • Ability to influence leaders at all levels without formal authority.
  • Servant leadership qualities, fostering empowerment and collaboration.
  • Effective communication skills adaptable to different audiences.
  • Proven collaboration in cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
What Is a Must Have?
  • Three years of relevant work experience.
  • Three years of experience motivating and influencing teams.
