Job summary

Chromalloy Corporation in Tampa, FL seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the engineering organization for the casting facility. You will steer production and process engineering, tooling, NPI, and automation initiatives while guiding ~40 engineers toward safety, quality, and performance excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years engineering leadership experience in aerospace or advanced manufacturing.
• Experience with aerospace investment casting processes (core, wax, shell, casting, finishing).
• Knowledge of equiax, directional solidification, and single-crystal casting technologies.
• Proven track record leading large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience delivering capital projects and automation programs with measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead all site engineering functions including production and process engineering, tooling design and operations, NPI, and PMA program execution.
• Develop and execute the engineering strategy to support site growth, capacity expansion, and operational excellence.
• Drive process automation initiatives including robotics, CNC integration, and AI-enabled controls.
• Roll out TeamCenter and digital-thread technologies to strengthen product lifecycle management and data-driven decisions.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, EHS, and HR to achieve site performance objectives.
• Improve yield, reduce scrap, and drive engineering-led improvements across all casting operations.
• Build and retain a high-performing engineering organization through coaching and strategic hiring.
