Job summary

Highmark Inc. is seeking an experienced actuarial leader to manage an actuarial staff responsible for pricing and rate development across multiple lines of business.

You will oversee staff performance, policy implementation, and collaboration with underwriting, sales, and product teams to ensure financial objectives are met. The role requires 8 years in actuarial work and 5 years in a management capacity, with ASA/ACAS and pursuing FSA/FCAS.

Qualifications

• 8 years in an actuarial role
• 5 years in a management role and/or leading teams and/or projects of varying size and complexity
• ASA or ACAS designation AND pursuing FSA or FCAS designation
• Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)

Responsibilities

• Oversee hiring, coaching, performance management and staff development within the department.
• Oversee rate filings for large and small group products.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Sales, and Product Management to develop pricing strategies.
• Support claim reserve processes and financial viability of new products.
