Job summary

The Standard is seeking a Director and Actuary on the ALM & Capital Analytics team to lead the JFSA Economic Capital program, guiding governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. You will partner with Meiji Yasuda to integrate risk insights into strategy, performance, and capital allocation.

You will manage a team, build organizational acumen in economic capital, and drive value creation through informed decision-making and risk-aware planning.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of actuarial experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Solid understanding of economic capital regulations and governance, and its impact on business strategy.
• Proven experience in managing senior actuarial contributors or teams and driving performance.
• Experience with JFSA (a plus).
• Strong technology skills with Excel (required), Power BI (a plus), Dataiku (a plus).

Responsibilities

• Oversee production, aggregation, validation, interpretation, and reporting of economic capital results under the JFSA framework for Meiji Yasuda and senior management.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of economic capital professionals.
• Serve as main liaison with Meiji Yasuda on methodologies, results, and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with Product Lines, Actuarial Modeling, Finance, ALM, Investments, ERM, and Governance to align results and governance.
• Educate stakeholders about JFSA results and promote consistent use of economic capital information across the enterprise.
• Research industry best practices in economic capital and identify opportunities to enhance use cases.
• Lead identification and implementation of economic capital use cases to support strategy and growth.
