Requirements
  • CPA
  • 7+ years’ experience managing a team within a small to medium sized CPA firm
  • Experience managing financial statement prep, close process and GL accounting in accordance with GAAP
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • QuickBooks, Lacerte or similar accounting/tax systems experience
Preferred
  • Hindi language skills are a plus (most clients are of Indian or southeast Asian decent)
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or related field
Job Description

An experienced and detail-oriented Director, Accounting is needed to join a leadership team within a dynamic and client-focused environment. This role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, managing a team of staff accountants, and ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting and compliance services to a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and review the work of staff accountants and associates
  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and relevant tax regulations
  • Oversee account reconciliations, journal entries, and period-end close processes
  • Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to team members
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on key client engagements and special projects
  • Serve as a trusted resource for clients, resolving complex accounting issues
  • Contribute to business development and organizational growth initiatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus)
  • CPA certification required
  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in accounting, including 5+ years in a managerial capacity
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and applicable tax regulations
  • Proficiency with accounting and tax software (experience with QuickBooks, Lacerte, or similar systems preferred)
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and client service skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results on schedule
