Job summary

Cambrex is seeking an ambitious Account Manager to grow our Drug Substance CDMO business. Build and maintain strong customer relationships across assigned accounts (typically 5-7), drive revenue growth, and penetrate deep within customer organizations at multiple levels.

Responsibilities include pursuing development and manufacturing opportunities, traveling to client sites and trade shows, and managing CRM data for forecasting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related life-science degree is required.
  • A minimum 10 years’ experience in business development with proven track record in selling CDMO services.
  • Experience in API, fine chemicals, and custom technologies is desired.
  • Commercial experience in pharmaceutical or related industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve annual revenue growth targets with focused accounts including new and existing business.
  • Pursue development, technical transfer, and commercial manufacturing opportunities for drug substance manufacturing.
  • Build strong client relationships and maintain high visibility within networking and trade organizations within the defined territory.
  • Identify industry and customer needs and provide solutions that generate value for the customer.
  • Serve as liaison between Cambrex and the external customer.
  • Lead initiatives to introduce new projects and opportunities aligned with Cambrex’s strategy.
  • Travel to client and Cambrex sites and attend trade shows.
  • Enter and maintain customer data in CRM (Salesforce) for client management and forecasting.
  • Conduct business review meetings.

Job Overview

Cambrex is looking for an ambitious and energetic Account Manager to grow our Drug Substance CDMO business. A successful Account Manager will be able to build and maintain strong customer relationships with assigned accounts (typically 5-7 accounts). Drive top line growth and revenue within these accounts. Penetrate deeps customer relationships across the customer organization and at multiple levels within the customer organization.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Account Manager will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Achieve annual revenue growth targets with focused accounts including new and existing business.
  • Aggressively pursue development, technical transfer, and commercial manufacturing opportunities for drug substance manufacturing
  • Build strong client relationships, forging new business partnerships, and maintaining high visibility within networking and trade organizations within the defined territory.
  • Knowledge of how to identify industry and customer needs and actively contribute to provide solutions that will generate value for the customer.
  • Be an important part in the ongoing liaison between groups internal to Cambrex and the external customer.
  • Lead the initiative to introduce new projects and business opportunities pursuant to Cambrex´s overall business strategy both at existing and new accounts.
  • Be a trustworthy and interactive team member who is willing to share and expand on good ideas.
  • Travel to client and Cambrex sites and attend trade shows.
  • Enter and maintain customer data within CRM (Salesforce)for client management and forecasting.
  • Responsible for Business review meetings.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (The ability to communicate internally and externally to the organization with the credibility necessary to influence sales and customer decisions).
  • An understanding of cGMP manufacturing requirements as well as regulatory and environmental issues relevant for the pharmaceutical industry.
  • A solid team player who can maintain cohesiveness between the customer, R&D and Manufacturing. Also comfortable in a project centered organization.
  • The ability to work effectively within a multicultural environment.

Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements

Education:
