Job summary

Future, a Primoris Company, is seeking an experienced HDD/directional drilling professional for telecommunications installations in Florida. You will operate drill rigs, review plans, coordinate with the drill locator, and ensure bore path accuracy while maintaining safety and efficiency on site.

The role requires reading prints and maps, a valid driver's license (CDL preferred), and the ability to work outdoors, sometimes overtime, nights, or weekends.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of directional drilling or underground utility construction experience preferred.
• Experience operating HDD equipment and working around underground utilities.
• Ability to read construction prints, utility maps, route plans, and locate markings.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred when required for assigned equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate directional drill rigs and related equipment to install conduit and underground telecommunications facilities.
• Review construction prints, bore routes, utility locates, permits, and job requirements before drilling.
• Coordinate with the drill locator and crew to maintain planned bore path, depth, and alignment.
• Perform equipment setup, pre-use inspections, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of the drill rig.
• Monitor drilling conditions, tooling, fluid systems, and production progress; report changes to foreman.
• Follow safety requirements, utility-damage prevention practices, traffic-control rules, and customer standards.
• Assist with rod handling, potholing coordination, conduit installation, jobsite setup, cleanup, and restoration.
• Complete daily production and equipment documentation and report safety or quality issues.
