Job summary

Riley Brothers, Inc. seeks a Directional Drilling Operator to setup and complete drilling of underground holes and pull back conduit.

You will work with the Outside Plant Supervisor, Locator and Laborers to finish projects from start to finish, including boring pits, drilling, conduit pulling, splicing, and backfilling. Responsibilities include operating the HDD, coordinating with the team, maintaining safety standards, and performing post-job inspections.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Horizontal Directional Drilling experience.
• Strong knowledge of underground utilities.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations (Vehicle and Operator Qualifications).
• Ability to read and follow quality/safety policies and procedures.
• Must pass criminal and MVR background checks and a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operate Horizontal Directional Drill
• Assist in potholing and remediation
• Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie ins
• Drive equipment to job site
• Confirm bore path with locator/lead
• Set up equipment including drill, water tanks and grounding
• Drill along predetermined path to exit pit
• Communicate with locator/lead via radio about drill head location
• Assist with installing pulling gear and connecting product
• Reverse process to install product
• Supervise laborers/crew and monitor time usage
• Conduct post-job quality checks
• Perform vehicle/equipment inspections and maintenance
• Submit required paperwork daily
• Follow job specifications and company policies
• Comply with safety procedures on site
• Strive for production while maintaining safety and quality
