Job summary

DRM, Inc. is hiring Horizontal Directional Drill Operators to support construction projects requiring horizontal drilling of utilities. You will operate drilling equipment, perform safety-conscious work, and collaborate with on-site teams to meet project specifications.

The role involves inspecting machinery, performing minor repairs, and adhering to safety standards. Travel to sites is required, with multiple equipment platforms used on projects.

DRM, Inc. has openings for Horizontal Directional Drill Operators.

If you have experience, but not limited to Horizontal/Directional Drill Operating, Locating, then we want to hear from you!

Summary

As a Horizontal Directions Drill Boring Operator, you will be integral to our construction projects, specializing in horizontal drilling techniques. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, your core skills in heavy equipment operation and excavator handling will be essential for executing drilling tasks safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal drilling equipment to install underground utilities efficiently.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections of heavy machinery, including excavators and loaders.
• Collaborate with construction teams on-site to ensure project specifications are met.
• Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs as needed to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to safety regulations and best practices to promote a safe working environment.
• Document daily operations and report any issues to supervisors promptly.
• We install everything from Copper, Fiber, Sewer, Water lines and setting hand holes.
• YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO OPERATE ONE OR ALL OF THESE MACHINES.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in horizontal drilling operations
• Proficient in heavy equipment operation, including excavators and loaders
• Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
• Valid commercial driving license
• Familiarity with construction site protocols and safety regulations
• Experience operating backhoes, dump trucks, graders, and water trucks
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

We run Ditch Witch equipment, JT 920, JT 2020, JT 2720, JT 60 and JT 100 machines.
You may be required to locate or help operate support equipment when needed.
