Job summary

TelCom Construction is seeking a Telecom Drill Bores Operator in Minnesota to operate drill equipment for installing underground telecommunications cables. You will determine bore paths, locate utilities, and safely run all required machinery while maintaining schedules and safety standards.

Ideal candidates bring drilling equipment experience, CDL Class A with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Valid state Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience with drilling equipment and bore path design processes.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete tasks.
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Utilize Mud mixing systems.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Site setup, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities

• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks

• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path

• Utilize “Mud” mixing systems

• Develop and maintain a bore schedule

• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance

• Perform work in all weather conditions

• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older

• Authorization to work in the United States for this company

• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience

• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record

• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it

• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely : work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds

• Occasionally : use ladder, keyboard and mouse

The wage range for Directional Drill Operator is $24.00 - $35.00.
