Job summary

Verità Telecommunications Corporation seeks a Directional Drill Operator to install underground telecommunications infrastructure using HDD equipment. The role supports fiber network expansion and collaborates with the drill crew to ensure safe, accurate bore paths.

Qualifications include 2+ years of HDD experience, fiber optic installation knowledge, reading construction drawings, and a valid driver's license. CDL preferred; willingness to obtain CDL post-hire is required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience operating directional drilling equipment in telecom or utility construction.
  • Experience installing fiber optic conduit and underground telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and bore profiles.
  • Knowledge of utility locating processes (811/Miss Dig).
  • Strong understanding of underground safety practices.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • CDL preferred; ability and willingness to obtain a CDL upon hire required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate directional drilling equipment (Vermeer, Ditch Witch, or similar HDD machines).
  • Perform underground bores for fiber optic conduit, cable placement, and utility installation.
  • Read and interpret construction prints, bore plans, and utility locates.
  • Locate and pothole existing utilities prior to drilling.
  • Monitor drill path using tracking systems to maintain proper depth and alignment.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on drilling equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on drill rigs and support equipment.
  • Coordinate with locator, laborers, and foreman to ensure safe job execution.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Maintain daily production logs and job documentation.
  • Restore job sites and ensure proper cleanup after completion.
