Job summary

Lambert's Cable Splicing Co. is hiring a Telecom Directional Drill Operator to install underground telecommunications cables. You will determine bore path, locate utilities, and safely operate drilling equipment on job sites across weather conditions.

This role requires a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, 18+ years old, valid US work authorization, and the ability to travel up to 50%. We offer weekly pay, PTO, 401(k) matching, stock purchase, and education reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; relevant work experience acceptable.
• Valid state drivers license with acceptable driving record; Provisional licenses not allowed.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement required.
• Experience with drilling equipment, including capabilities, limitations, and setup/design processes.
• Position may require up to 50% travel due to business needs.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Utilize mud mixing systems.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Responsible for site setup, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement REQUIRED
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes
• PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION COULD BE UP TO 50% TRAVEL GIVEN THE BUSINESS NEED ***

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
