Job summary

RHA Health Services is seeking a Direct Support Supervisor for BH/PAHrtners Deaf Services in Pennsylvania. You will oversee two or more Direct Support Professionals, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to plans.

You will interview, hire, train, schedule, and conduct performance reviews, while providing on-call coverage and ensuring staff meet training requirements. A compassionate, hands-on leader is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in a health-related area or two years’ experience preferred.
• One year of experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
• Flexible schedule and on-call availability.
• CPR after certification.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license.
• CPR, first aid, NCI and/or MedTech certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of two or more employees.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of Direct Support Employees.
• Manage residential homes/facilities as assigned.
• Interview, hire, train, and evaluate staff performance.
• Plan, assign, and direct work; review performance and address issues.
• Provide after-hours and on-call coverage as part of rotation.
• Ensure training requirements are met and attend events.
• Support people served to achieve personal goals per Individual Support Plan.
• Carry out Direct Support Professional responsibilities when needed.
• Maintain clean, safe homes and yards.

Responsible for direct supervision of two or more employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, recommendations for hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; reviewing performance; rewarding, motivating, and promoting team performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manages residential homes/facilities as assigned
• Supervises and coordinates activities of Direct Support Employees
• Works assigned time in the residential home/facility
• Resolve employee issues and conduct performance reviews
• Ensure employees meet training requirements and attend required events
• Provide after-hours and on-call coverage as part of the direct care rotation
• Monitoring and providing feedback to employees in interactions and relationships with the people supported
• Ensures that people supported have a clean and maintained home and yard.
• Responsible for helping to implement services and supports that will assist the people we support achieve personal goals and desired outcomes as identified through an Individual Support Plan.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D required, Associate Degree in a health related area; or two years’ experience in a health related field preferred
• One year of experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities
• Flexible schedule and availability to provide on-call coverage as needed
• Provide CPR after certification
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Valid driver’s license
• CPR, first aid, NCI and/or MedTech certification, a plus

Pre-employment screening:

• Complete criminal background
• Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
• Drug testing
• Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
• Proof of employment history or references (if required)
• Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
