Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a Direct Support Leader to provide direct support and house assistant duties in residential and day settings in North Carolina. You will help ensure staff coverage across three shifts and support individuals in reaching their goals per each person-centered plan.

The role may involve overnight stays on certain schedules and requires the ability to communicate needs effectively, collaborate with the Home Manager, and work under supervision to deliver quality care.

Qualifications

• Experience in direct support or residential settings preferred.
• Ability to coordinate staff coverage across shifts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Provides support for individuals and/or groups of persons with disabilities both in residential and day settings by performing both Direct Support and House Assistant duties. Assists with ensuring staff coverage of all three shifts as scheduled by the Home Manager or as necessary due to scheduled staff not being able to work. At certain residences, the employee may be required to reside (sleep over) if he/she works a special schedule and/or work week. Assists the person(s) receiving services in identifying and communicating his or her requests and needs for services and supports. Implements services and supports to address the person’s goals and desired outcomes as identified through each person’s Person Centered Plan. Relies on knowledge, experience, and judgment to complete tasks with supervision and direction of the Home Manager.

Pre-employment screening:

• Complete criminal background
• Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
• Drug testing
• Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
• Proof of employment history or references (if required)
• Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
