Job summary

DuMolin Community Living in Santa Rosa is seeking compassionate Direct Support Staff to provide essential care and companionship to residents with developmental disabilities in a group home setting.

You will assist with daily living, accompany residents to activities, manage medications under supervision, and help residents build independence in a supportive team environment. This part-time role supports a 26-hour week schedule.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of caregiving, direct support, behavioral health, or related field preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and assist with physical care.
• Ability to read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with ADLs including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Administer prescribed medications and track health conditions under supervision.
• Prepare meals based on dietary plans and restrictions from the dietitian.
• Provide safe transportation to day programs, work programs, and community events.
• Facilitate activities to enrich clients' lives and maintain a safe living environment.
• Accurately document services, incidents, medications, and daily care logs.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, and clinical teams.

Thursday Friday 5:30am - 9am & 3:30pm - 8pm / Sat-Sun 3pm-8pm for 26 hour per week

About the Role:

As a Direct Support Staff, you will provide essential care, companionship, and support to residents with developmental disabilities in a group home setting. You’ll accompany residents throughout their day—from daily routines and medical appointments to recreational and community-based activities—ensuring their health, safety, and dignity.

This role is more than just caregiving; it's about building meaningful relationships, promoting independence, and creating a positive impact in someone’s life every single day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Administer prescribed medications and track health conditions under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Prepare meals based on dietary plans and restrictions from the assigned dietitian
• Provide safe transportation to day programs, work programs, family visits, and community events
• Facilitate recreational, therapeutic, and social activities to enrich clients' lives
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment for residents
• Accurately document services, incidents, medications, and daily care logs
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, and clinical teams
• Commit to working Thu-Fri 5:30AM-9AM & 3:30PM- 8PM and Sat&Sun 3PM-8PM (PART TIME 26 HOURS)

Requirements

THESE ARE THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT:

• At least 1 year of experience in caregiving, direct support, behavioral health, or related field preferred
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and assist with physical care
• Ability to read and write in English
• Strong communication, patience, and time-management skills
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check AND MVR
• Reliable transportation and punctuality are a must
• A Valid Driver's License that is 3 years old to meet insurance requirements
