About the Role

Terrapin House is seeking caring, dependable Direct Support Staff to provide one‑on‑one support to a young adult with autism in the Quakertown area. This position focuses on helping an individual live a meaningful life at home and in the community while providing consistency, structure, and positive support.

Available Shifts

• Day Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Weekdays and weekends available)
• Evening Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM (Weekdays and weekends available)
• Overnight Shift: 12:00 AM – 9:00 AM (Weekdays and weekends available)

Full‑time and part‑time positions available.

Responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one support in the home and community.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal growth.
• Encourage community participation and meaningful activities.
• Promote safety, independence, and quality of life.
• Support established routines and schedules.
• Follow individualized support plans.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Communicate effectively with family and team members.

Required Qualifications

• Applicants must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
• 1‑2 years of experience supporting individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, behavioral health needs, or related human service experience.
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field.
• Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).
• Candidates with extensive experience supporting individuals with autism may be considered if they are willing to obtain NADD certification.
