About the Role
Terrapin House is seeking caring, dependable Direct Support Staff to provide one‑on‑one support to a young adult with autism in the Quakertown area. This position focuses on helping an individual live a meaningful life at home and in the community while providing consistency, structure, and positive support.
Available Shifts
- Day Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Weekdays and weekends available)
- Evening Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM (Weekdays and weekends available)
- Overnight Shift: 12:00 AM – 9:00 AM (Weekdays and weekends available)
Full‑time and part‑time positions available.
Responsibilities
- Provide one‑on‑one support in the home and community.
- Assist with daily living skills and personal growth.
- Encourage community participation and meaningful activities.
- Promote safety, independence, and quality of life.
- Support established routines and schedules.
- Follow individualized support plans.
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively with family and team members.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
- 1‑2 years of experience supporting individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, behavioral health needs, or related human service experience.
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field.
- Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).
- Candidates with extensive experience supporting individuals with autism may be considered if they are willing to obtain NADD certification.
