Job Responsibilities
- Provide hands‑on care to adults and children with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, medication administration, and meal preparation.
- Maintain a warm, caring environment through housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping.
- Accompany participants to community outings and activities.
- Document progress accurately and maintain confidentiality.
- Assist with transfers, use of mechanical lifts, and safe handling of residents.
- Follow infection control and safety procedures, including hand hygiene and use of gloves where indicated.
- Administer first aid, CPR or Heimlich maneuver as trained.
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments, errands, and community programs.
- Participate in team meetings and support staff as needed.
Experience & Eligibility
Previous experience working with adults who have developmental or intellectual disabilities is preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a motor vehicle report, physical exam/TB test, and drug test.
- Reliable transportation to assigned location.
- Willingness to complete a criminal background check and child abuse clearance.
- Physical ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Completion of employee orientation and 1‑week mandatory on‑site training.
Other Duties
- Assist the immediate supervisor with various tasks to support program operations.
- Perform supportive tasks that may be altered based on individual needs.
- Attend additional training as required by program or department.
Full‑Time Work Schedules
All residential homes are located within a 10–15 mile radius of Souderton, PA, including Hatfield, Lansdale, Souderton, Sellersville, Perkasie, Telford, Harleysville, Schwenksville, Salfordville, Quakertown.
2nd Shift:
- Tuesday‑Friday 2:30 pm‑11:00 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am‑11:00 pm
- OR Sundays 9:00 am‑11:00 pm & Monday‑Thursday 2:30 pm‑11:00 pm
3rd Shift (Experienced DSPs only):
- Wednesday‑Saturday 11:00 pm‑9:00 am (awake & asleep)
- OR Sunday‑Wednesday 11:00 pm‑9:00 am
Part‑Time Schedules
Limited part‑time schedules available, typically working every Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Current part‑time schedules are subject to change.
