Job summary

Dungarvin Supported Living is hiring for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) caregiver. You will provide hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ensuring health, safety and achievement of personal goals in a compassionate, person-centered approach.

Role includes assisting with daily living activities, meal prep, mobility support, and teamwork with staff to maintain a safe environment. Paid orientation and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training.
• Have a passion to help others through person-centered care.
• Must be dependable, adaptable and flexible.
• Good communication is key in this role; you’ll rely on reading, writing, and communication skills to document care and follow support plans.

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support the lives of residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
• Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting and eating.
• Prepare meals and snacks.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
• Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
• Other duties as assigned
