Job summary

Entry-level Direct Support Professional position in New York. You will assist individuals with daily living activities, participate in treatment planning, and help foster social and community engagement.

Responsibilities include documenting behaviors, supporting health, safety, and personal care, and aiding in education and employment goals under supervision. Role requires a High School diploma and basic computer skills; training in CPR/First Aid and other core competencies is expected.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent diploma is required.
• Successful completion of Direct Support Professional Core Competencies training.
• CPR/First Aid, AMAP, PROMOTE or site-specific training is a plus.
• Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate service plans based on individuals' needs.
• Observe and document behavior and responses to programs.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and discuss observations.
• Encourage participation in social, recreational, and community activities.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, nutrition, and daily living tasks.
• Assist with medications and basic health monitoring as prescribed.
• Transport or arrange transportation to events and appointments.
• Support career, education, and employment goals when appropriate.
• Maintain a safe, clean living environment and monitor safety.
