Job summary

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is seeking a Direct Support Professional for Nunapitchuk. You will provide direct support to an individual with developmental disabilities and coordinate village-based services in remote southwest Alaska.

Responsibilities include assisting access to resources, meeting with the individual and family, and collaborating with the Traditional Council to ensure safety and well-being.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required or equivalent; related education in special education or human services is a plus.
• Experience in special education, child/family health and development, counseling or community development is preferred but not required.
• Two years of progressive experience working with consumers with special needs, IDD, co-occurring disorders, or related areas.
• Valid Alaska Driver’s License or ability to acquire one; CPR and First Aid certification required or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support services to assigned individual with developmental disabilities.
• Coordinate village-based services and assist individual in accessing resources.
• Meet regularly with individual and family to support self-sufficiency and safety.
