Community Options, Inc. in Forked River, New Jersey, is hiring full-time Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role includes assisting with daily routines, medication administration, and community activities, with a schedule Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.

Starting pay is $17.50 per hour. You'll participate in ongoing training, work with a supportive team, and contribute to meaningful growth opportunities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with individuals receiving supports.
• Background checks including criminal, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with disabilities.
• Assist with daily routines and personal hygiene.
• Monitor health needs and report concerns.
• Support development of independent and community skills.
• Engage in community, social, and recreational activities.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments and activities.
• Complete program documentation and billable records accurately.
• Build and maintain relationships with community members and families.
• Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections.
• Additional tasks as assigned.

Community Options, Inc. is a national non‑profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are hiring full‑time Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Caregivers, Direct Care Staff, and Home Health Aides in Forked River, New Jersey. This role offers person‑centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, professional growth opportunities, paid training, and a schedule of Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. The starting pay is $17.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and maintaining personal hygiene.
• Monitor the health and medical needs of individuals and immediately report any concerns.
• Assist with the learning and development of independent and community‑based skills.
• Participate with individuals in community, social, and recreational activities.
• Drive individuals to medical appointments and activities in the community.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely.
• Build a support network for individuals by developing and maintaining relationships with community members, businesses, and families.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
• Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.
