Job summary

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Liverpool and Oswego areas with a young man with autism. You will accompany him to SUNY Oswego, support him on campus and during community outings, and help him pursue hobbies and independent living skills.

Reliable, patient individuals with a HS diploma/GED and a valid NYS driver’s license are required. Background checks and DMV record verification will be conducted by the agency.

• Must have valid NYS driver’s license.
• Experience working with developmental disabilities preferred.

• Accompany the individual to SUNY Oswego and support on campus and during classes.

Self-Direction DSP - Liverpool & Oswego Area (Job #SSM-WP)Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Liverpool and Oswego areas with a young man with autism. He and his family are looking for a dedicated DSP to provide support and assist him with working on goals, both at home and in community settings.Responsibilities include but are not limited to accompanying him to SUNY Oswego; supporting him on campus and during community outings; assisting him to pursue his hobbies and interests; assisting him to gain independent living skills; assisting him to increase and maintain his communication and social skills and providing transportation.We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and enthusiastic. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities a plus. Reliable transportation, valid NYS driver’s license and a HS diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 11:00am-5:00pm.(Staff will need to pick him up at his home in Liverpool, transport to SUNY Oswego, support him during classes and while on campus and transport him back to his home in Liverpool.)Pay rate: $25.00 per hourIndera is an Equal Opportunity EmployerMust have a valid drivers licenseEffective communication and organizational skills required.Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
