Support Solutions is seeking a full-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, promoting self-direction and enhancing their quality of life. This role includes personal care, daily living assistance, and community integration. Ideal candidates must be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, and possess effective communication skills.
You will be working primarily in home and community settings with additional responsibilities in documentation and ensuring customer satisfaction.

The position involves providing support to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to lead self‑directed lives, and providing them with opportunities to develop and maintain skills that enhance the quality of their lives. Our mission is to ensure that supported persons are happy, healthy and safe in an environment where they can enjoy life to the fullest extent possible.
Supports the person with personal care and daily routines, and helps them achieve outcomes from the Individual Support Plan.
Understands and practices Support Solutions philosophy and values in interactions with the person and community members, using respectful language and actions, connecting the person to preferred activities and experiences, and empowering them to make decisions and lead a self‑directed life.
Helps the person become integrated with the community by providing person‑centered supports that assist them in pursuing their dreams, establishing significant relationships, and connecting to their communities.
Assures safe transport and accompanies the person as needed to events, job sites, and medical appointments, using company vehicles, personal vehicles, or public transportation. Secures alternate transportation if required.
Ensures proper use of the person’s personal funds and agency resources, including vehicles, buildings, utilities, telephones, money, equipment, food and supplies.
Attends all training meetings assigned by Support Solutions.
Cooks and provides meals based on scheduled menus.
Performs daily activities or teaches the person daily living skills and other personal skills that work toward achieving independence.
Consistently works and documents improvement toward meeting outcomes.
Utilizes the electronic records system, including completing daily shift notes as required by funding entities.
Ensures customer satisfaction by following the Customer Service Standards when interacting with persons supported, their families, conservators, vendors, ISCs, Case Managers, and others.
Oversees storage and administration of medications.
Provides assistance with personal grooming, allowing the person to perform these activities independently as possible.
Provides assistance to keep the house clean and do laundry, as desired by the person.
Protects confidentiality of the person.

Employee must provide any medical records required by governing entities and Support Solutions policy (e.g., TB skin tests, HEP B vaccinations, flu vaccinations).
Position may require additional hours over 40 per week. Primarily in a home environment but also in community settings, work settings, outdoor activities, etc. Regular standing, walking, short periods of sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required. Driving/travelling for transport and meetings also required. Full range of body movements for CPR, abdominal thrusts, and crisis intervention techniques. Ability to lift over 50 lbs. for transfers and repositioning.
Agency insurance coverage for vehicles operated in the course of work stands as primary coverage for employees working in that particular home setting. Valid automobile insurance is required for all employees working at homes where the agency does not provide a vehicle. Proof of insurance may be requested irrespective of site location or availability of an agency vehicle.
