Job summary

Oh Inc is seeking a Direct Support Professional for our Residential Program to teach and support clients in group homes and community settings, promoting safety and independence.

You will assist with daily living skills, personal care, transportation, and documentation, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, and ensure compliance with licensing, training, and OH policies; DSP training is flexible and paid, with shift differentials for third shift and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance; personal vehicle to use on company business.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support clients in daily living, personal care, and adaptive living skills.

• Provide client transportation as assigned.
• Attend Interdisciplinary Team meetings and complete required documentation.
• Complete Relias training by agency deadline.
• Maintain First Aid, CPR certification and other required training.
• Promote independence and foster clients’ hobbies and interests.

Duties

Teach and provide support and supervision to clients residing in group homes or community.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Personal vehicle to use on company business if needed. Must pass background checks.DSP training is flexible and paid!

Pay

$18.25 an hour;additional shift differentials may apply for third shift and weekend shifts. Starting rate is based on training and experience.

Essential Functions

• Advocate and protect clients’ health, safety, financial, and personal well-being.
• Teach and support clients in learning daily living (meal preparation, housekeeping, money management, etc.), personal care (including toileting and showering as needed), adaptive living (conflict resolution and emotional regulation), and employment skills.
• Provide support and assistance in a home environment while promoting independence.
• Teach home and community safety including evacuation procedures.
• Maintain a safe and healthy home environment that encourages learning and fosters clients’ preferred hobbies and interests.
• Plan and implement community recreation and leisure activities.
• Attend Interdisciplinary Team meetings and other meetings as assigned.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation and records, including replying to emails, actively utilizing Teams/Zoom, and other agency required databases.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship with clients, parents/guardians, other agencies, co-workers, and other departments to foster productive teamwork and accomplish goals.
• Comply with and enforce licensing and regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and OH policy and procedures.
• Provide client transportation as assigned, which may include driving company cars, vans, or buses in accordance with OH’s safety procedures; teach clients how to navigate public transportation.
• Assist with medical appointments as needed.
• Maintain First Aid, CPR Certification, and other required certification and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Complete Relias training by agency deadline.
• Be flexible to working in other homes and departments based on client needs.
