Job summary

Sawtelle Hall is a residential treatment facility serving vulnerable youth who may have but are not limited to a diagnosis within the autism spectrum. Residential Assistants provide positive support, caring assistance and responsible supervision within a therapeutic treatment team.

Responsibilities include becoming familiar with residents' treatment goals, carrying out interventions, observing and documenting progress, and suggesting new goals as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in a related social service field is required.
• HS diploma/GED with 3+ years experience with youth in a group or behavioral setting is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

Residential Assistants will be expected to provide positive support, caring assistance and responsible supervision. This position is expected to require a unique sensitivity on the part of the applicants to recognize and appropriately respond to clients who may have evidenced difficulties.

• Participating as a member of a therapeutic treatment team
• Becoming familiar with the residents' treatment goals
• Carrying out expected interventions
• Observation and documentation of success
• Identifying current or suggesting new therapeutic goals which may require attention by the treatment team

Availability

Weekdays or Weekends Full time/Part time or On-Call shifts available.

Requirements

• Bachelor level degree in a related social service field (Psychology, Sociology, Education, Public Health etc.), Psychology preferred with experience working with youth.
• High school diploma/GED requires 3 years or more experience working with youth in a group or behavioral setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license required
