Job summary

Lehigh Valley Companion Care Homes is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide care in our care homes for individuals with IDD. You will assist with personal care, help promote independence, and create a safe, supportive environment.

The role requires reliable, team-oriented individuals willing to work Mondays and Thursdays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Training is provided, and we offer a flexible, inclusive workplace in Whitehall, PA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (certifications are a plus).
• Previous experience in direct care is preferred but not required; training is provided.
• Compassionate, patient and respectful approach to care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical stamina and ability to assist with transfers and other care needs.
• Paid training and opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal care tasks including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Administer medications and document accurately following prescribed schedules.
• Provide emotional support and foster positive relationships with individuals.
• Facilitate and engage in recreational and community activities with individuals.
• Observe and monitor residents’ health conditions and report concerns.
• Implement individualized care plans and behavior support strategies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Complete and maintain accurate documentation and records of care.
