Job summary
Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems in East Petersburg, PA is hiring a Direct Support Professional for part-time evening shifts. You’ll support individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting, with paid training and opportunities for growth.
No prior experience required, just a caring heart and reliability as you help residents achieve independence. Two evenings per week are scheduled (Friday–Monday path described), with a stable, predictable routine, and competitive benefits
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- PA clearances (Child Abuse, Criminal, FBI fingerprinting) needed.
- Valid driver’s license with 3+ years driving and clean record preferred.
- Evening availability is essential for part-time evenings.
Responsibilities
- Help individuals work toward their personal independence goals.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and encouragement following individualized care plans.
- Serve as a positive role model and trusted companion.
- Support skill development in daily living activities.
- Plan and participate in engaging evening recreational and therapeutic programs.
- Accompany residents on community outings, appointments, and social activities.
- Transport individuals safely to various destinations.
- Foster community connections and relationships.
- Assist with personal care needs as required.
- Help with meal preparation and light housekeeping.
- Create a warm, clean, and welcoming home environment.
- Ensure residents' comfort and dignity in all activities.
- Monitor and support medication administration and health needs.
- Implement approved behavior support plans when needed.
- Maintain a safe living environment and respond to emergencies appropriately.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and data collection.

Pay Rate: $18/hour
Schedule: Part-Time
- Friday - Monday 8:00 am - 4 pm , Monday and Friday split shift 8 am - 10 am / 2 pm - 4 pm
- Sunday 4 pm - 8 am ( overnight) & Monday 4 pm - 12 am
