Job summary

People Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help individuals live their best lives. You will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, and support participation in community activities.

You'll work within a compassionate, mission-driven team and receive paid training and good benefits. Full-time and part-time shifts are available in Buffalo, NY, with hourly pay starting at $19. After a successful 6-month probation, the rate increases to $20/hr.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license that meets agency policy.
• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the position (standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing).
• Lifting requirement of 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Support people in daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning and personal care.
• Encourage participation in hobbies, social activities, and community events.
• Follow care plans honoring each person’s choices, strengths, and needs.
• Ensure safety, health, and dignity in every interaction.
