Job summary

Firefly in Springfield, MO is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver for part-time hours to support adults with developmental disabilities in homes and community settings.

No experience required — we provide paid training. You will help clients build independence, learn life skills, access community resources, and participate in activities while documenting progress and communicating with families and teammates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Support adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.
• Help individuals access community resources and participate in social activities.
• Provide transportation for appointments, shopping, and community outings.
• Teach independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and money management.
• Assist with daily living needs, including personal care and hygiene.
• Document client progress, achievements, and milestones.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
• Follow each individual’s ISP and participate in team meetings and training sessions.
