Job summary

ViaQuest Residential Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional in the Akron, OH area. The role provides direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in facilities and homes. Training is provided in full, and no prior experience is required.

Positions offer paid training, benefits for full-time employees, PTO, holiday pay, mileage reimbursement, annual pay increases, and flexible schedules to fit various needs.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED required.
Personal, reliable vehicle to transport individuals served.
Valid Ohio driver’s license and car insurance.
Motor Vehicle Record must meet ViaQuest’s Authorized Driver Criteria.
Ability to push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs. and to kneel, crouch and balance.

Responsibilities

Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting independence, choice and safety.
Supervising, teaching and assisting individuals in daily living.
Carrying out household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean, safe living environment.
Providing personal care assistance.
