Job summary

ViaQuest Ohio is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide direct care for individuals with developmental disabilities in our ICF facilities. The goal is increased independence, choice and empowerment while meeting health and safety needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and car insurance.
• Motor Vehicle Record must meet ViaQuest’s Authorized Driver Criteria.
• Able to push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs and to climb, balance, kneel and crouch.
• Experience in developmental disabilities or direct care preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities to foster independence, choice and empowerment while meeting health and safety needs.
• Administer site training to new hires.
• Assist with shift coverage as needed.
• Supervise, teach and assist individuals in daily activities.
• Complete household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean, safe living environment.
• Provide personal care assistance.
• Companion care / caregiving.
