Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a part-time role in Sparks Glencoe, MD. You will help individuals with developmental disabilities live meaningful, independent lives, building relationships and supporting daily activities while upholding dignity and choice.

The schedule includes Friday nights and weekend shifts. Applicants should have a valid driver’s license, be comfortable with lifting, and complete relevant training.

Description

PAY RANGE: $20 - $23.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience and certifications)

As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll build trusted relationships and provide personalized support that honors each person’s strengths, choices, and goals. Whether it’s celebrating small wins, encouraging independence, or simply being present, you’ll be part of the moments that truly matter.

At Gallagher Services - a Catholic Charities program, we believe that every person deserves a life filled with meaning, independence, and relationships that matter. We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule: Friday 11 PM- 9 AM ; Saturday and Sunday 8 AM - 8 PM.

A Day in the Life:

You’ll spend your days assisting with care to a group of people who enjoy:

• Going to the Park and walking trails
• Doing Arts and Crafts
• Going to the movies
• Going Shopping

This group is looking for someone who is kind, dependable, a good communicator, and most of all—someone who enjoys spending time with them. If you’re someone who takes joy in building real connections and being present in the moment, you’ll thrive here.

How You’ll Support:

• Help by cooking nutritional meals
• Support with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care in a way that promotes dignity, independence, and choice.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)
