Job summary

Sevita’s REM Community Services in Waterloo, IA is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead more independent lives.

You will help with daily living activities, meals, medications, transport, and community involvement while building strong relationships and supporting personal growth within a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
• Successful clearance of background checks.
• A compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do.

Responsibilities

• Empower individuals to achieve personal and developmental goals.
• Build meaningful connections and act as a trusted mentor and advocate.
• Take initiative and contribute ideas in a supportive team environment.
• Assist with daily living activities including meal prep, medication, personal care, and outings.
• Help participants access their communities, attend events, and pursue activities they enjoy.
