Job summary

American Baptist Homes of the Midwest is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) House Mentor in Ottumwa, Iowa. In this role, you'll train and mentor new DSPs, support residents with daily activities, and ensure a safe living environment. What You'll Do

• Train new employees assigned to the house
• Mentor new DSPs to ensure quality service delivery and adherence to standards
• Support residents with daily living activities: bathing, dressing, meal prep, etc.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful living environment
• Monitor and report changes in behavior or health
• Help with transportation to appointments or activities
• Collaborate with healthcare staff and team members to deliver holistic care

What You'll Need

• Age 21 or older
• Valid driver's license and insurance
• Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English
• Minimum 3 years of experience in direct care services with disabilities or persons 65 and older
