Job summary

Beacon Specialized Living is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional to provide direct support and take on a leadership role within the home, mentoring staff and supporting daily operations to ensure high-quality, person-centered care.

You will lead by example, assist with daily living skills, and help implement person-centered plans while maintaining documentation and promoting independence for individuals served.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• GED or High School Diploma required
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Compassionate, dependable, and team- oriented
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, coaching and supporting Direct Support Professionals
• Assist with daily living skills, personal care, and community engagement
• Ensure person-centered plans, behavior plans, and documentation are followed accurately
• Support day-to-day operations of the home in partnership with leadership
• Administer medications and maintain proper documentation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment
• Transport individuals to appointments and advocate for their needs
• Support individuals with budgeting, household routines, and independence goals
• Complete required documentation including progress notes, incident reports, and daily logs
• Communicate effectively with team members and provide clear shift hand-offs
