Job summary

Partnership Resources, Inc. is looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Job Coach to support adults with developmental disabilities. This role involves working in various community settings during daytime hours, Monday to Friday.

As a DSP, you will assist individuals with job-related skills, promote community inclusion, and manage client communications. The position offers comprehensive training and various benefits including medical insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Prior DSP experience is a plus, but training provided.
• Must be able to pass a background study.
• Minimum age requirement is 18 years.
• Comfortable working independently and in different environments.
• Ability to withstand 6+ hours of standing or walking.

As a DSP - Job Coach, you will:

• Work alongside adults who have developmental and intellectual disabilities at their place of employment in the community, assisting them to be successful at work!


• Assist individuals with problem solving, decision making, on-the-job safety, and meeting their job expectations


• Enjoy learning the ins and outs of different industries? Individuals supported work in settings ranging from retail to food service and beyond


• Manage a caseload of clients - maintaining communication with care team members, completing log and data notes, and participating in care team meetings


• Support individuals using person-centered strategies in order to help people achieve goals and self-advocate

Schedule: Monday-Friday daytime hours approximately 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (full-time, 40 hours per week). No nights, no weekends.

Requirements:

• Prior DSP experience is a plus, but not required. We are happy to provide all training needed to be successful!


• Comfortable working independently at community businesses most of the time


• Use of a personal vehicle is required for daily travel between work sites. Mileage reimbursement is provided


• Must be comfortable working at different locations and environments throughout the week (i.e. office setting, commercial kitchen, hospital). Working location/environment is determined by where clients are employed. All locations are within the Twin Cities/West Metro area


• Multilingual candidates who speak Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Oromo or American Sign Language are encouraged to apply. Language skills help us to coordinate services and support participation for individuals served


• Must be able to pass a background study with the MN Department of Human Services


• Must be authorized to work in the United States without a sponsor visa


• Minimum age requirement is 18 years


• Must be able to regularly push/pull/lift 25-50 pounds


• Ability to withstand 6 or more hours of standing or walking in an 8-hour workday


• Ability and willingness to assist individuals with activities of daily living


• Basic computer and technology skills. This position utilizes the computer daily, i.e. for report writing and documentation of goals & outcomes
