Blue River Services, Inc in Corydon is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide individualized, in-home support for individuals with disabilities. The role focuses on promoting independence and helping individuals achieve their personal goals while staying in their home environment.

Responsibilities include developing service plans, assisting with daily living skills, and supporting individuals in community activities. A strong emphasis on communication, organization, and empathy is essential. Training possibilities and a $350 sign-on bonus are available.

SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: In-Home Services Regional Manager or In-Home Services Manager/SFC

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None

JOB STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt and Part-Time, Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: Schedule varies; Overtime hours currently available (although not guaranteed)

Summary

Provide individualized, in-home and community-based support to individuals with disabilities. This role focuses on promoting independence, developing life skills, and supporting individuals in achieving personal goals while remaining in their home environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess individual needs and assist in developing and implementing individualized service plans
• Provide training in daily living skills, including personal care, communication, and social development
• Support individuals in accessing community resources and participating in community activities
• Assist with household tasks, organization, and maintaining a safe home environment
• Escort individuals to medical appointments and community activities as needed
• Support individuals with correspondence, budgeting, and bill paying when necessary
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and outcomes in compliance with regulations
• Develop materials and maintain supplies to support individual goals
• Act as a resource to families, caregivers, and other team members
• Promote independence, self-advocacy, and personal growth
• Maintain positive relationships with individuals, families, and community partners
• Remain flexible to meet the needs of individuals served

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in home and community settings
• Empathy and ability to support individuals with diverse needs
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and families
• Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry)

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Frequent bending, stooping, and assisting individuals with mobility
• Ability to travel between client homes and community locations
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required

Certifications & Training Requirements

• CPR and First Aid certification
• Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT)
• Certified Restraint Training (CRT)
• Medication Administration (Core A & B)
• Completion of required trainings
