Job summary

City of Virginia Beach is seeking a Part Time Direct Support Professional II to provide compassionate, person-centered care to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in a residential setting. You will implement ISP plans, assist with daily living activities, document care and billing, and ensure safety and well-being of participants.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience working with ID/DD clients.
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Alpha I Status: designated to work during inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meals, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
• Complete documentation and billing accurately.
• Ensure health, safety, and well-being per ISPs.
• Administer medications as prescribed and assist with appointments.

• Uphold participant rights and confidentiality; follow incident reporting.

As a Direct Support Professional II, you will serve adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in a residential setting.Specific Duties:Implement Person-Centered Individual Support Plans (ISP)Assist with meal preparation, hygiene care, and activities of daily living.Complete all required documentation and billing processes accurately and ethically.Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all participants based on their ISPs.Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medical appointments.Support participants in community integration opportunities and transport them as needed.Attend and participate in all mandatory meetings, supervisions, and trainings.Uphold participant rights, confidentiality, and follow all incident reporting processesCollaborate productively with all internal and external stakeholders.Work Schedule:Weekly scheduled hours: 30 hours per weekFriday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 3:30PM-11:00PM**This posting is open until filled.
