Job summary

Threshold Rehabilitation Services Inc. seeks a Direct Support Professional II (DSP II) for the IDD Community Homes Program. The DSP II assists residents in daily living, supports social skills, and helps maintain a clean, safe home-like environment.

This role requires Medication Administration Practicum Observer certification and adherence to all laws and contractual obligations. Hours are on a standard first or second shift at the residential site.

Exciting opportunity for staff growth and professional development as a DSP II in the IDD Community Homes Program!

Compensation is current rate of pay plus $1.00 more an hour or $17.25 for new hires.

The Direct Support Professional II (DSP) is responsible for assisting individuals residing in a residential arrangement. The DSP II supports individuals and assists them in gaining social skills and other skills necessary to meet goals plans, or those skills necessary for independent living. The DSP II supports the needs of the facility and assists with ensuring the facility is a clean and safe "home-like" environment. This position ensures that the facility meets all of the rules, regulations, laws, codes, and contractual obligations required by the facility. This position supports residents by assisting residents on doing activities of daily living for residents. These activities may include tasks such as cooking, cleaning, bathing, providing medications, transportation, arranging or supporting leisure activities, etc. This position demonstrates the highest level of proficiency when operating with individuals in the Community Homes Program. This position maintains Medication Administration Practicum Observer certification. This position acts as an expert communicator and performs and documents Medication Administration Practicum observations. This position is supervised by the Program Specialist - Community Homes.

The hours for this position will be an existing first or second shift schedule in the residential site.

Requirements

• Computer knowledge is a must.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Valid PA Driver's License.
• PA Motor Vehicle Record Check.
• Use of vehicle while working with valid registration and insurance coverage indicating you are an insured driver.
• High School Diploma or GED. (Original document is required).
• Pre-employment Drug Screen.
• Pre-employment Physical Exam.
• Pre-employment TB (Mantoux) Test or Chest X-Ray (if applicable).
• PA Criminal History Clearance.
• FBI Clearance (if candidate has not been a resident of PA for the past two consecutive years).
• NADSP certification.
• Medication Administration certification.
• Medication Administration Practicum Observer certification.
• Must have life experience managing a household, performing budgeting, preparing meals, and performing household chores.
