Job summary

Legacy Residential Services LLC is seeking Direct Support Professionals in Pittsburgh, PA, to provide compassionate, direct support to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Responsibilities include ensuring health and safety, promoting independence, and assisting with daily living activities. This position requires a minimum of 18 years of age, a High School Diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license. DSP training is provided, and prior experience is preferred but not essential. The role is available as full-time or part-time.

Qualifications

Job Summary

We are looking for Direct Support Professionals to join our team! You work directly with individuals to enrich and enhance their daily lives. You operate with compassion providing personalized and attentive support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, mental health, behavioral health, and healthcare needs.

Support is provided in private residential home settings. You are detail-oriented, organized, and committed to creating a healthy and safe environment that meets individuals' needs.

Effective verbal and written communication skills are needed. Prior experience is preferred by not required -- DSP training is provided. This is a full-time/part-time position. Incumbent must be dependable.

Specific Duties

• Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and specialized support in daily living
• Provide support and assistance to foster maximum independence of individuals
• Ensure the health, safety and well-being of individuals
• Assist and encourage clients to engage in various activities in the home and community
• Observe clients' behaviors and changes in physical condition and utilize trained strategies to assist the client
• Complete daily shift logs, detailing individual's activities, progress, or problems observed
• Administer medications (as prescribed) and transport individual to appointments, day program or job, etc.
• Assist in housekeeping and cleaning duties as assigned
• Adhere to County, State Regulations and Company policies.
