Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health seeks compassionate individuals to become full-time or part-time Direct Service Providers (DSPs) for clients with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges in the Charlotte, NC area.

You will assist with daily living activities, provide employment support, and facilitate social engagement, while maintaining documentation and offering transportation assistance as needed. Training and growth opportunities accompany a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
• Willingness to successfully complete a background check.

• Maintain daily documentation and reporting; provide care in clients’ homes and may assist with transportation.
• Under supervision, help clients learn socially appropriate skills and provide families with needed breaks.

Easterseals PORT Health, a non‑profit service provider in North Carolina & Virginia, seeks compassionate, caring, and dedicated individuals to become full‑time or part‑time Caregivers (internally called DSPs) to clients living with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges.

Hiring for Part‑time & Full‑time

The rate of pay for these positions ranges from $11 – $18 per hour.

Locations & Shifts

We are hiring for the following locations and shifts:

• Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas – full‑time and part‑time shifts available.
• Charlotte zip codes: 28204, 28205, 28208, 28212, 28214, 28215, 28262, 28269, 28277.
• Surrounding areas: 28025 (Concord), 28027 (Concord), 28036 (Davidson), 28078 (Huntersville), 28108 (Mineral Springs), 28115 (Mooresville).

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will make a significant impact on the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by assisting with daily living activities, employment support, and social engagement. Your work will help clients develop skills for greater independence at home and in the community.

You are required to maintain daily documentation and reporting. As a Direct Service Provider (DSP), you will provide care in clients' homes and may assist with transportation.

Under supervision, you’ll help clients learn socially appropriate skills and offer families much‑needed breaks.
