Overview

Pay Rate: $25/hour

To provide families and individuals with dependable and age-appropriate Family Support. This is a direct service position, responsible for the provision of Respite Care Services to program participants and to serve as a Seven Hills Family Services, Inc. Team Member.

Responsibilities
  1. Participate in a pre-placement interview with the Senior Family Support Specialist and the family/individual to develop a specific family/individual respite plan as outlined in the Family Support Guidelines.
  2. Complete detailed time sheets, obtain family signatures, and submit these time sheets in a timely manner.
  3. Support the Senior Family Support Specialist with the training and coordination of respite workers.
  4. Provide respite services to families/individuals, utilizing but not exceeding allotted hours.
  5. Complete orientation and all required trainings as mandated by Seven Hills Family Services, Inc. and the Department of Mental Retardation Family Support Guidelines.
  6. Attend specific job-related training as assigned.
  7. Maintain a continued working knowledge of the Seven Hills Family Services Support Worker Manual and Seven Hills Policies and Procedures.
  8. Be knowledgeable of community activities.
  9. Communicate effectively with families, individuals, and Seven Hills Family Service staff regarding scheduling and utilization of allocated resources to maximize efficiency.
  10. Report any changes in the family/individual's situation to the Family Support Director in a timely manner, including family/individual resignation intentions prior to termination of services.
  11. Utilize community resources to enhance the quality of life of the families/individuals serviced through inclusionary or other specifically identified experiences.
Qualifications
  1. An interest in working with families who have a physically, developmentally, emotionally, or otherwise life-challenged family member.
  2. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  3. Knowledgeable of creative and developmental activities appropriate for the age and capabilities of the individual being supported.
  4. First Aid and CPR certification required.
  5. Must have a valid driver’s license.
