Job summary

Resources for Human Development (RHD) seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification if not currently certified.
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks, drug screening, and pre-employment physical and PPD.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed.
• Support daily living skills and independence.
• Assist with appointments, community outings, and recreational activities.
• Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.
• Follow individualized support plans and goals.
• Promote dignity, respect, and person-centered care.

What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
• Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when needed
• Supporting daily living skills and independence
