Job summary

RHD Delaware is seeking Direct Support Professionals to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community-based residential programs. Starting pay is $16.00 per hour with DailyPay available, and full-time schedules are available.

You will provide direct care and supervision, support daily living, transportation, and help individuals achieve personal goals while collaborating with teams.

Qualifications

• No prior DSP experience required; paid training provided.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, supervision, and support in community-based settings.
• Assist individuals in achieving ISP goals and increasing independence.
• Support activities of daily living, including personal care, hygiene, meal prep, and household tasks.
• Encourage participation in recreational, educational, and community activities.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community outings.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment and complete documentation timely.
• Collaborate with supervisors, clinical teams, families and other providers.

What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide direct care, supervision, and support to individuals living in community-based residential settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support in accordance with Individual Support Plans (ISP)
• Assist individuals in achieving personal goals and increasing independence
• Support activities of daily living, including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Encourage participation in recreational, educational, and community activities
• Provide transportation to appointments, community outings, and other essential activities
• Assist individuals in accessing community resources and services
• Implement behavioral support strategies and residential interventions as directed
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely
• Collaborate with supervisors, clinical teams, families, and other service providers
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications Required

No prior DSP experience required. Paid training provided.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to provide proof of education
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Basic computer skills, including email and electronic documentation
• Ability to pass required background screenings, including FBI clearance when applicable

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field
• Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
• Experience in behavioral health, social services, residential care, caregiving, or direct support roles

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Flexible scheduling available
• Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required based on program needs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, move, and assist individuals as needed
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
