Job summary

RHD Delaware is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live independently in community-based homes. You will provide direct care, supervision, and support daily.

Starting pay is $16.00 per hour with DailyPay, medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k), PTO, and paid training as you join a mission-driven team dedicated to improving lives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic computer skills, including email and electronic documentation.
• Ability to pass required background screenings, including FBI clearance when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, supervision, and support to individuals in community-based residential settings.
• Assist individuals in achieving personal goals and increasing independence.
• Support activities of daily living, including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Encourage participation in recreational, educational, and community activities.
• Provide transportation to appointments, community outings, and other essential activities.
• Access community resources and services as needed.
• Implement behavioral support strategies and residential interventions as directed.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with supervisors, clinical teams, families, and other service providers.

What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide direct care, supervision, and support to individuals living in community-based residential settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support in accordance with Individual Support Plans (ISP)
• Assist individuals in achieving personal goals and increasing independence
• Support activities of daily living, including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Encourage participation in recreational, educational, and community activities
• Provide transportation to appointments, community outings, and other essential activities
• Assist individuals in accessing community resources and services
• Implement behavioral support strategies and residential interventions as directed
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely
• Collaborate with supervisors, clinical teams, families, and other service providers
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Flexible scheduling available
• Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required based on program needs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, move, and assist individuals as needed
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
