Resources for Human Development (RHD) through Apis Services, Inc. seeks Direct Support Professionals to supervise and assist individuals with mental health needs in community-based settings in Malvern, PA. Responsibilities include daily living support, medication administration, and transportation to appointments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer and internet proficiency, including email, electronic documentation systems, and timekeeping platforms.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background and employment screenings, including FBI clearance where applicable.
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• Previous experience in mental health, behavioral health, residential services, or human services environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support according to each individual's ISP and plan.
• Assist individuals in achieving personal goals and outcomes.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Administer medications per agency policies.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments and community activities.
• Assist with activities of daily living: meal prep, hygiene, toileting, household tasks.
• Support community integration and access to resources.
• Promote independence, dignity, choice, and positive social interactions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Position Summary

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides supervision, care, and support to individuals with mental health disabilities and behavioral health histories in community-based residential settings. This role focuses on promoting independence, encouraging healthy behaviors, and assisting individuals in achieving the goals outlined in their Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and other person-centered support plans.

The DSP partners with clinical teams, implements residential interventions, assists with daily living activities, and supports community integration while upholding RHD’s mission and values.

• Provide supervision and support in accordance with each individual's ISP and person-centered support plan.
• Assist individuals in achieving personal goals and identified outcomes.
• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Administer medications in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments, community activities, and other necessary destinations.
• Support individuals with activities of daily living, including:
  • Meal preparation
  • Personal hygiene
  • Toileting
  • Household tasks
  • Other individualized support needs
• Assist individuals with community integration and access to resources, including:
  • Medical appointments
  • Social services
  • Recreational activities
  • Community-based supports
• Promote independence, dignity, choice, and positive social interactions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
