Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in Dallas/Garland, Texas is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Caregivers, Direct Care Staff, and Home Health Aide to provide person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a full-time and part-time opportunity for professional growth in a supportive nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to establish a supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
• Employment contingent upon successful background checks (criminal, central registry, child abuse registry, drug testing).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
• Monitor health and medical needs and report concerns.
• Assist with learning and development of independent and community-based skills.
• Engage individuals in community, social, and recreational activities.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments and community activities.
• Complete program documentation and billable records accurately and timely.
• Build and maintain relationships with community members, businesses, and families.
