Job summary

Indera is seeking a 1:1 Direct Support Professional to assist an 18-year-old female in Oneida, NY with community activities after school. The role is part-time, per diem, with hours after 3pm and travel to various community locations.

You will support engagement, identify safety issues, and help develop communication and social skills while following the individual’s plan and policies. This position offers ongoing opportunities to contribute to meaningful community participation.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist an 18-year-old female in the Oneida area with activities in the community, identifying safety issues and working on positive communication skills.
• Support engagement and social participation in activities such as bowling, sports, and other community events.
• Travel to different locations in the community as needed to provide 1:1 support.
• Help the client explore new activities and interests while ensuring safety and comfort in the community.

A 18-year-old female in the Oneida area is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist her with activities in the community, identifying safety issues and working on positive communication skills.

She enjoys meeting new people, participating in fun, interactive activities and getting out into the community more often. Activities like bowling, sports or others physical activities.

The ideal candidate is creative and engaging, active and patient, and willing to travel to different locations in the community. The ideal candidate must be open to helping her explore new activities and interests, as well as helping her feel more comfortable while out in the community.

This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services.

Starting pay: Starting pay is $19.25/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.
