Job summary

Resources for Human Development is seeking a DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL to support adults with developmental disabilities in supervised community-based programs. The role involves assisting with daily living, promoting independence, and documenting progress, with an emphasis on respectful, client-centered care.

We offer paid training, on-going support, and opportunities to advance within a compassionate team. A valid driver''s license and a willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related field education is a plus.
• Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or related field preferred.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable transportation.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).
• Must participate in onboarding including background and driver''s record checks.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
• Foster a positive and respectful relationship with clients while promoting independence and personal choices.
• Assist clients in developing skills for everyday living and participate in social and recreational activities.
• Document client progress and maintain accurate records of care and support provided.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
