Job summary

Resources for Human Development in Ambler, PA, is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help individuals with daily living, life skills, and community participation. This full-time role includes training and opportunities to grow within a compassionate team.

As a DSP, you’ll provide personal care, monitor health, administer medications per certification, and document activities while collaborating with clinical staff to support independence and well-being.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read, write, and document effectively in English.
• Basic computer proficiency, including email, electronic documentation, and timekeeping systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to complete required trainings, including CPR, First Aid, medication administration, and other assigned training.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, and community participation.
• Support individuals in developing life skills, independence, and self-confidence.
• Foster meaningful community connections and social relationships.
• Provide supervision, guidance, and support in residential and community settings.
• Implement Individual Support Plans (ISP) and behavioral support strategies as directed.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, community activities, day programs, religious services, and family visits.
• Monitor and respond appropriately to crisis situations in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
• Administer medications following certification and agency guidelines.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely, including daily logs, medication records, incident reports, and goal tracking documentation.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment.
• Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and competency-based learning activities.
• Collaborate with supervisors and clinical staff to ensure individual needs and goals are met.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education
